Creating categories using situation data
Purpose
To create categories using data contained within a situation.
Theory
The simplest method for creating categories is to use situation data that is already contained within a knowledge model.
In this exercise, you will create a category called Visa containing the following values:
- Long Stay Visa
- Transit Visa
- Travel Visa
Actions
To create categories using situation data:
- Open the Schengen Without Behaviour knowledge model.
- Double click on the Enrich Entrants node.
- Click the Minimise Down
button in the top left corner of the knowledge model, to minimise it. - Ensure Deborah is selected from the Situation List.
- Right click on the Visa concept, and select Make 'Visa' A Categorisation from the context menu.
You have now created a category called Visa, containing one value called Long Stay Visa. - Click the Categorisations
button.
The Categories screen is displayed, showing Visa in the Category list and Long Stay Visa in the Value list for the Visa category.
You are now going to add two more values to this category. - Click the Knowledge Model
button.
- Double click on the Enrich Entrants node.
- Select Francisco from the Situation List.
- Right click on the Visa concept, and select Add 'Travel Visa' To Categorisation from the context menu.
You have now added Travel Visa as a value in the Visa category. - Select Leo from the Situation List.
- Right click on the Visa concept, and select Add 'Transit Visa' To Categorisation from the context menu.
You have now added Transit Visa as a value in the Visa category. - Click the Categorisations
button.
The Categories screen is displayed, showing the Visa category containing the three values you have added.
The values are displayed in alphabetic order rather than the order in which you added them.
In the next exercise, you will create behaviour to categorise the entrants based upon the type of visa they have. - Close the knowledge model without saving changes.
