Locating error snapshots

Purpose

To locate error snapshots (trace logs) that contain an exact replica of the Erudine Behaviour Engine when a problem occurs.

Theory

Error snapshots are valuable troubleshooting tools that enable the Erudine Support Team to see exactly what the Erudine Behaviour Engine looked like when a specific error occurred. This means that problems can be resolved quickly and easily.

The error snapshot can also be referred to as the Java serialisation file.

Any time an error occurs in the Erudine Behaviour Engine an error snapshot is generated and saved to the hard disk. The location of this file is set by the property:

erudine.<Platform>.serverDataDir.tracesDir

The snapshot should be sent to Erudine as part of a report to the Erudine Support Team.
