Locating the licence file

Purpose

To locate the licence file.

Theory

By default, the licence file is saved in a location specific to the environment on which you have installed the Erudine Behaviour Engine. You can change the default location in which the licence file is automatically saved by modifying the Erudine configuration file (erudine.config).
The licence details are contained within the license.lic file and the server.NaCl file.

MS Windows environment

When the Erudine Behaviour Engine is installed on a Microsoft Windows environment, the default location for the licence file to be saved in is:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\erudine\Server\license

You will need a separate licence per Windows user in a Windows environment.

Unix / Linux environment

When the Erudine Behaviour Engine is installed on a Unix / Linux environment, the default location for the licence file to be saved in is:

/var/erudine/server/license

You will need a separate licence per machine on a Unix / Linux environment.

Changing the default location for the licence file

To change the default location for the licence file:

  1. Enter the following text into the Erudine configuration file:

    erudine.<platform>.serverDataDir.licenseDir = <location>

Refer to Locating the Erudine configuration file to find this.
Ensure you enter the location and name of the platform as detailed in [int:Understanding the Erudine configuration file].

  2. Save the changes and close the Erudine configuration file.
  3. Move the licens e.lic file and the server.NaCl file from the default location into the location that you have defined.
